Hi, i’m Ashleigh Arceo

  • I’m a National Board Certified High School Counselor with years of experience guiding students and families through the college admissions process, from early planning to final decisions.

Today, I bring that same expertise to my work with students and families, offering personalized, student-centered support every step of the way. I stay current on admissions trends and expectations, and I’m known for helping students feel less overwhelmed and more confident throughout the process.

I also continue to support students through a nonprofit program, working with those who face additional barriers to college and helping them navigate the process with clarity and confidence.

My background in counseling shapes everything I do. I don’t just help students stay organized. I help them manage stress, build resilience, and move forward with purpose.

  • I’ve always loved working as a high school counselor, but what I value most is the opportunity to work one-on-one with students as they figure out what’s next.

Not every student starts this process with a clear plan (I didn’t either!), which is why I create a space where they can explore their strengths, interests, and goals without pressure. Whether we’re mapping out a four-year plan, exploring careers, or building applications, I’m here to guide and support each step.

I also know that in many schools, it’s hard for students to get the time and individualized attention they need. Giving students the clarity, support, and confidence to make decisions that feel right for them is what drives my work.

For me, this isn’t just about getting into college. It’s about helping students understand themselves, take ownership of their future, and move forward with confidence.

FAQs

What is the difference between a college consultant and a high school counselor?

High school counselors provide general guidance to all students in their school, which may include college preparation, personal counseling, and academic advice. However, due to their large caseloads and broader responsibilities, they typically do not have the time to offer detailed, individualized support for college applications. A college consultant, on the other hand, focuses exclusively on helping you navigate the college admissions process, offering personalized advice and strategic planning tailored to your unique strengths, goals, and target schools.

Will a college consultant guarantee my acceptance to college?

No, a college consultant cannot guarantee admission to any particular school. College admissions are competitive and depend on many factors, including your academic record, extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation, and test scores. What a consultant can guarantee is a thoughtful, well-planned approach that will maximize your chances of gaining admission by presenting your best self.

What locations do you serve?

While Forward Path is based out of the Charlotte Metro area, I offer remote college consulting services to students anywhere in the state. Whether you’re along the coast, in the Piedmont, or in the mountains, my services are available to you virtually.

When should I start working with a college consultant?

Ideally, you should begin working with a college consultant early in your junior year of high school. This gives us time to help you plan your course selection, extracurricular activities, and standardized test strategy. However, I also work with students who are in their senior year or in some cases, underclassmen eager to plan ahead.

How many hours will I need with a college consultant?

The number of hours needed depends on your specific goals and where you are in the admissions process. Some students may need only a few hours for specific tasks (like essay feedback or Common App support), while others may need more extensive support over several months to develop a college list, refine essays, and strategize their applications.

Can I get help with just one part of the process, like my college list or essays?

Absolutely! Many students choose to work with a college consultant for specific aspects of the process. For example, we can focus exclusively on refining your personal statements or essays, preparing you for interviews, or helping you select colleges that align with your academic interests. I offer flexible packages and services that can be tailored to your individual needs.

Do you offer services for students who cannot afford them?

I am committed to making college accessible and equitable for all students, regardless of financial circumstances. If you or someone you know has a financial need, please reach out. I will work with you to create a personalized plan that accommodates your situation, ensuring you receive the guidance and support necessary for your college journey.
